How To Speed Up Your Personal Computer

I absolutely hate the idea of lost time, and a broken down, slow computer is one of those things that absolutely eats away at me. The thought of waiting minutes for something aimlessly when it should take seconds is a really unsettling one to me.

The value of wasted time doesn’t have a price, especially when we’re using our machines for business. Because of this, you should really think about ways to fix the solution without spending much money.

Here are a few suggestions that you may want to take note of if your computers are running slowly. There’s no guarantee that these will work, but you don’t have much to lose either.

One of the biggest mistakes that I see people make is the fact that they’ll leave their machines running 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

While it may seem convenient to do this, there are drawbacks that come with leaving it on all the time. You’re overworking your computer when you do this. Could you imagine a car that was left on around the clock? Shut it down when it’s not in use, as this will go a long way.

Hard drive space is another potential killer. Most of us use an extremely low percentage of the files on our hard disk, and there are plenty of things that you may be able to erase. If you do this, you’ll free up virtual memory and you’ll be better off all in all.

If you don’t feel comfortable about deleting some of these files, take baby steps instead. Go into your internet browsers and clear your cache, in addition to deleting any of the temporary data they store for easier browsing.

I would try all of the above before my last suggestion, but it’s one that generally does the job too. Look into some of the many registry cleaners out there, as all of them will help to a degree. I would definitely try this as a last resort before deciding to find a new computer.
